Donald L. "Pat" Shalmy - Chairman
President, Nevada Power Company
Mr. Shalmy is president of Nevada Power Company. He joined Nevada Power in May 2002 as senior vice president and was made president in July 2002. From January through May 2002, he was director of government and community relations for Kummer, Kaempfer, Bonner and Renshaw. Prior to assuming that position, Mr. Shalmy was president of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, the third largest chamber in the United States, with 7,000 members and a staff of 60. Before leading the city's chamber of commerce, Mr. Shalmy dedicated over three decades of work to the public sector. His last position as Clark County manager allowed Mr. Shalmy to shape Las Vegas as a dynamic business community and an ever-growing tourist destination. Mr. Shalmy earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas and later received a master of science degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Arkansas. Mr. Shalmy is married with two children and four grandchildren.
 
Robert D. Faiss - Vice Chairman
Chairman of Gaming & Regulatory Law, Lionel Sawyer & Collins
Bob Faiss is the chairman of the gaming and regulatory law department of Lionel Sawyer & Collins, Nevada's largest law firm. He was ranked by the National Law Journal as one of America's 100 Most Influential Lawyers and is listed in Best Lawyers in America. He has been a resident of Nevada for more than 50 years. Positions Bob held before joining his law firm in 1973 include executive assistant to Governor Grant Sawyer; White House staff assistant for President Lyndon B. Johnson; assistant to the director of the United States Travel Service, the federal governments international tourism agency; and city editor of the Las Vegas SUN. Bob is a graduate of Las Vegas High School and the University of Nevada, Reno, and was a member of the first class at University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1958. He is married to Linda Faiss, president of Faiss Foley Warren, a Nevada public relations and government affairs agency.  
 
Terry Murphy - Board Member
President, Strategic Solutions

As president of Strategic Solutions, Ms. Murphy serves as a consultant for local businesses, governments and political candidates, helping develop crucial organizational management skills. Her background in strategic planning comes from years working with and for various state government agencies. Beginning in 1989, Ms. Murphy worked as the government affairs representative for the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association. She later spent six years working for the Clark County government. Ms. Murphy holds a master's degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Sociology. She has been a resident of Southern Nevada since 1979.
 
Alex Hossack - Board Member
Mr. Hossack has practiced as a certified public accountant for 30 years. He holds CPA retired status in both California and Nevada. Starting his career in California, he worked for firms such as Price Waterhouse & Co. (now Pricewaterhousecoopers), Hurdman & Cranston (now KPMG), and as a partner with Grant Thornton and BDO Seidman. Raised in Las Vegas, he moved back in 1991 and established his own CPA/consulting practice. From 1998 to 2000, he was also vice president of finance for the start-up company Inviro Medical Devices. During his career, he addressed a wide range of issues, though his concentration of knowledge and expertise was in the areas of corporate mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, liquidations and spin offs, capital formation decisions, strategic planning for expansion/contraction, multi-national/multi-state matters, inter-company pricing and international taxation. Mr. Hossack earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics from the University of Nevada and holds an MBA taxation degree from Golden Gate University. He was also an adjunct professor at University of California's Graduate School of Business and he lectured at Stanford University, University of California - Berkeley, the American Management Association and the California and Nevada CPA Societies. He has delivered over 200 public speeches about contemporary corporate finance, tax and accounting issues.
 
William Bible – Board Member
President, Nevada Resort Association 
William Bible joined the Las Vegas Monorail’s Board of Directors in August 2007.  He has been the president of the Nevada Resort Association, the world’s oldest and largest gaming industry association, since October 1999. In 1998, he was appointed to the Nevada Ethics Commission part-time after his retirement from active state employment. Mr. Bible was also selected by President William Clinton in 1997 to the nine-member National Gambling Impact Study Commission.  This Commission was created by Congress to study all aspects of legalized gambling in the United States.  The Commission completed its work in June 1999. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Bible served as the Chairman of the State Gaming Control Board appointed by Governor Robert Miller from 1988-1998. From 1977 to 1983, he served as the Assembly Fiscal Analyst and then as the Director of the Division of Fiscal Analysis of the Legislative Counsel Bureau.  In these capacities, he supervised a division with the primary responsibility of providing the legislature with an independent analysis of budgetary and fiscal matters. He also worked as the Deputy Budget Administrator from 1973-1977 and the Chief Assistant Budget Administrator from 1971-1973.  Mr. Bible holds a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in History and Political Science, and a M.B.A. from the University of Nevada, Reno.
