Check Out Downtown Las Vegas

Freemont Street at night

Known as DTLV to Las Vegas locals, the downtown corridor has grown to include exciting new restaurants and attractions. Downtown is where you’ll find plenty of things to do on Fremont Street, it’s what most folks refer to as “Old Vegas”.
Start at our SLS Las Vegas Station. Ask your Lyft driver to head north on Las Vegas Boulevard and keep an eye out for the neon cowboy named Vegas Vic.

If you like the glitz and glamour of historic Vegas, you will love the Neon Museum. Take some time to explore the Neon Boneyard. The Boneyard is home to dozens of the iconic and world-famous neon signs of Las Vegas. Try a night tour where you can see eleven illuminated signs. Tours are available seven days a week and tour times are seasonal.

Downtown Las Vegas Neon Museum

History buff? Don’t miss the Mob Museum. This interactive museum chronicles the sordid history of organized crime in America. Pose for a police lineup, sit in on a courtroom hearing and learn how the Mob influenced Las Vegas.

Set your Lyft drop-off location to the Downtown Container Park for downtown shopping and dining. You’ll know you’ve arrived when you see the 40-foot-long praying mantis. The mantis blows fire in the evenings, particularly when unsuspecting crowds linger below. The Downtown Container Park is built from shipping containers and features Oak & Ivy—a craft whiskey cocktail bar, Pinches Tacos, and The Perch.

Visit a Local Brewery

Does visiting a new city require a stop at the local brewery? Some of Vegas’s best breweries off the Strip. Zip the Strip on the Las Vegas Monorail to the SLS Las Vegas and grab a Lyft to a few of our favorites: Hop Nuts Brewing, Tenaya Creek or Banger Brewing on Fremont Street.

Check Out Local Favorites and Hidden Gems

Do you want to see Las Vegas like a local? Here are a few tips for checking out the spots where you’ll find locals enjoying a drink or bite to eat.

For a classic steakhouse with a speakeasy vibe, ride the Las Vegas Monorail to the SLS Station and have your Lyft drive head West on Sahara Avenue. At Herbs and Rye, you will find some of the best-handcrafted cocktails and steaks in Sin City. Plus, we’ll fill you in on a little secret. Happy Hour is Monday thru Saturday, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and they offer 50% off steaks and selected food.

Feeling competitive? Bring your quarters, set your pickup location to the MGM Grand Station and head east to the Pinball Hall of Fame. The museum includes the world’s largest pinball collection dating back to the 1950s. With 10,000 square-feet of games, the Pinball Hall of Fame is a little slice of nostalgia that’s off the beaten path.

Shop Till You Drop

Plenty of shopping options located on the Strip. There are also a few stellar options that are a bit farther away. They are perfect for a zip along the Strip on the Monorail and a quick Lyft.

For an outdoor promenade with dozens of shopping and dining options, check out Town Square Las Vegas. Looking for a steal or deal? You’ll need to make a stop at either the Las Vegas North or South Premium Outlets. Both are minutes from the Las Vegas Strip and offer dozens of your favorite outlet stores. Simply take the Monorail to SLS Las Vegas and Lyft north for the North Premium Outlets. Alternatively, head to the MGM Grand Station to grab a ride to the South Premium Outlets.
