Las Vegas Monorail Will Do The Driving on New Year’s Eve When The Strip is Closed to Vehicles

The Strip is scheduled to close to vehicle traffic around 6:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve

As several hundred thousand revelers ring in 2011 in true Las Vegas style, the Las Vegas Monorail will be moving party-goers along the world-famous Strip while the road is closed to vehicles and buses on New Years’ Eve. In 15 minutes or less, Monorail riders will reach their New Year’s Eve destinations in a safe, clean and hassle-free environment.

Visitors can use the Monorail to travel to and from their hotel, their show or dinner reservations or to their favorite hotspots without worrying about getting stuck when the Strip closes to vehicles,” said Ingrid Reisman, vice president of corporate communications for the Las Vegas Monorail Company. “We’re open to help revelers spend more time celebrating the best party in America, and less time traveling.

With trains arriving every few minutes, riders can party hop along the seven stops, gliding above the crowds and easily connecting to Las Vegas’ most popular restaurants, attractions and resorts. As the night culminates in a spectacular rooftop fireworks display, the Las Vegas Monorail will continue to offer non-stop service until 3 a.m.
