Save $5 on Two-Day, Multi-Ride Monorail Passes throughout the Month of April
LAS VEGAS (March 2017) – The Las Vegas Monorail operates its zero-emissions trains 365 days a year along the destination’s resort and convention corridor. As Las Vegas’ most sustainable form of mass transit, the Monorail will be celebrating Earth Day—April 22—all month long with special rates on multi-ride passes.
From April 1 through April 30, two-day, multi-ride passes will be just $17, which is $5 lower than the normal price of $22. These passes allow holders to ride the Monorail’s four-mile route—from SLS Las Vegas at the north to MGM Grand at the south—as many times as they wish for 48 hours.
Earth-friendly Stats by the Numbers:
- In 2016, the Las Vegas Monorail aided in the annual removal of an estimated 2.2 million vehicle miles from Southern Nevada’s major roadways, reducing emissions by more than 28.73 tons of carbon monoxide (CO), volatile organic compounds (VOC) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) over the course of the year.
- The Monorail has removed more than 27 million vehicle miles from our roadways—equivalent to 56 round trips to the moon.
- Since opening, the Las Vegas Monorail has been responsible for keeping more than 434 tons of pollutants out of the atmosphere—that’s almost the weight of 747 passenger jets.
“This special fare gives people an extra incentive to make sustainable transportation choices,” explained Ingrid Reisman, vice president and chief marketing officer, Las Vegas Monorail. “The Monorail is an economical option every day of the year, but Earth Day provides a great occasion for us to make the prospect of riding our zero-emissions trains just that much more appealing to the public.”
Earth Day fares may be purchased beginning April 1 online or at eKiosks at Monorail stations using promo code “GREEN17”. To purchase passes, go to www.lvmonorail.com.
