What Is the DEF CON Conference?

Where Is DEF CON 2026 in Las Vegas?
DEF CON in Las Vegas is making its return to the newly renovated Las Vegas Convention Center. The annual conference is expected to be held in the West Hall and will consist of several distinct zones, including:
- The Villages
- Capture the Flag (CFT)
- Demo Lab

- Workshops
When Is DEF CON Las Vegas 2026?
DEF CON will take place starting on Thursday, August 6, and run through Sunday, August 9. Pre-conference training sessions may be offered again this year prior to the official start of DEF CON. For the latest updates, check the DEF CON 34 site.
Getting to DEF CON 34 2026 in Las Vegas
Getting to DEF CON 34 in Las Vegas is easy, riding the Las Vegas Monorail.
The Monorail runs daily starting at 7:00 a.m. until:
- Mondays: Midnight
- Tuesdays – Thursdays: 2:00 a.m.
- Fridays – Sundays: 3:00 a.m.
Boingo Station at the Las Vegas Convention Center is a dedicated stop along the 3.9-mile route.
North of the Convention Center, there are two stations:
South of the Convention Center are four stations:
Travel time between most stations is about two minutes. You also get stunning views of the Vegas Strip and popular attractions, like the High Roller, The LINQ Promenade, and The Sphere.
For stations north of the LVCC, hop on a southbound train, and for stations south of the Convention Center, board a northbound train.
Upon arrival at the Convention Center, exit the station, and follow the signs to the Central Hall and the LVCC Central Underground Station to board one of the free Vegas Loop vehicles to quickly transport you to the West Hall.
Alternatively, you could walk, but it can take up to 25 minutes in extremely hot weather, compared to a 10-minute walk to the station and a two-minute ride on one of the Vegas Loop cars.
