Las Vegas Airport Transportation

Airport transportation in Las Vegas is typically quick because the Strip is only about 15 minutes away. Even if you choose to stay off the Strip, Downtown Las Vegas is about 20 minutes from the airport, while Summerlin is only a 25-minute drive.

Here are the popular ways people travel from the Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) to their hotel or other Las Vegas destination.

There are plenty of taxis at the airport ready to take you wherever you need to go in Las Vegas. Both LAS Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 have a taxi pickup and drop-off location for easy loading and fast service.
Terminal 1 Taxi Area: The taxi area is just outside exit doors 1-4. If you’re at Terminal 1 baggage claim, head to the exits on the east side to find the taxi line. Follow the signs or ask the airport staff for help if you’re unsure where to go.
Terminal 3 Taxi Area: If you’re at Terminal 3, taxis are located on Level Zero outside exit door 52. The taxi loading area with designated parking is on the other side of the exit doors on the west side of the building.
The Nevada Taxicab Authority regulates Las Vegas taxis and their rates to make this mode of transportation safe, fair, and reliable. There is a flat rate for direct rides from the airport to the Las Vegas Strip.

If you prefer to take a rideshare with upfront fees from the airport, LAS also has designated Uber and Lyft areas where you can easily find your ride and hit the road.
Terminal 1 Rideshare Area: Located on level 2 of the parking garage, you can use the pedestrian bridge to get from the terminal to the rideshare pickup area.
Terminal 3 Rideshare Area: Head to the valet level of the Terminal 3 parking garage for rideshare pickup.
While trip costs will depend on traffic, the type of car requested, and driver availability, the average route price of an Uber to the Las Vegas Strip is $25. Likewise, Lyft rates from LAS to the Strip range from $12 to $50.

Private limousine companies also offer transportation to and from LAS. Airport transfer limos typically provide special rates for airport transfers to make riding in style and comfort more accessible to Las Vegas travelers. There are public transportation options from the Las Vegas Airport that are great for visitors on a budget or who are traveling light. The city’s comfortable, air-conditioned buses pick up and drop off from Terminal 1 at Level Zero. If you arrive at Terminal 3, a free inter-terminal shuttle can take you to Terminal 1 for access to local bus lines.

  • Bus Line 108: Route 108 picks up and drops off from Level Zero at Terminal 1. This line can take you to many Strip locations and other local stops, including the Thomas & Mack Center and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).
  • Bus Line 109: Bus Route 109 will take you to the South Strip Transit Terminal, where you can connect with other routes to various destinations on the Strip and around Las Vegas, including The Deuce bus line.
  • Centennial Express (CX): The Centennial Express line picks up at the airport and stops along the Strip before heading north to Downtown Las Vegas and the Centennial Hills area. The CX line also drops off at Terminal 3.

Las Vegas Strip Transportation

Getting around the Las Vegas Strip is key to making the most of your trip. Here are the best ways to navigate the Strip and see as much as possible during your Las Vegas stay:

Las Vegas Monorail

While heavy traffic, expensive parking, and pedestrian crowds can make driving along the Strip challenging, transportation on the Las Vegas Strip doesn’t have to be stressful! Every four to eight minutes, you can hop on a clean, zero-emission train, coast high above the traffic, and take in the dazzling sights of the city. Rideshares also provide transportation on the Las Vegas Strip. However, you must meet your Uber or Lyft driver in designated pickup areas only and cannot simply request a ride wherever you are on the Strip.

Before requesting a driver, find the closest rideshare area. If your driver shows up and you’re not yet there, they cannot wait in the designated area for long. Other drivers need to pull forward to pick up their passengers. Wait in the area for your ride and contact your driver if you’re having trouble locating them.

If you’ve never used a rideshare service, it’s as easy as downloading an app on your smartphone and entering your information. You can see a ride’s cost before committing to it and track your location during the drive. 

Private car companies provide transportation options to accommodate different group sizes and needs. For example, private limos are a good choice to make it a special trip and ride in luxury. Some private car companies offer special rates for Las Vegas strip rides, too. Large groups can book a private passenger bus to get the party started on the way to your destination and keep the good times going after you leave.

The Deuce bus line is a public transportation bus line on the Las Vegas Strip, with connections to other bus lines in Las Vegas. Deuce on The Strip runs daily, 24 hours a day, with multiple stops northbound and southbound along Las Vegas Boulevard. The bus arrives every 10 to 15 minutes between 7:00 am and 1:00 am Bus frequency is every 20 minutes from 1:00 am to 7:00 am.

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) offers reduced fares to veterans, passengers between the ages of 6 and 17, students from kindergarten to 12th grade, seniors over 60, and persons with disabilities. Children aged 5 and under ride free.

The Vegas Loop is an underground green transportation system with tunnels built to accommodate electric, zero-emissions Tesla vehicles. It’s built to help reduce traffic congestion while transporting visitors in a convenient, entertaining, and Only Vegas way. The system has a growing network of public stations across Las Vegas, including multiple Strip resorts and Harry Reid International Airport. The Boring Company continues to expand the network, with plans to grow to over 100 stations spanning more than 68 miles of tunnel throughout Las Vegas.
