Monorail Executive Receives Women in Travel and Tourism International Award

Ingrid Reisman, VP & CMO, recognized for her contributions to travel & transportation

LAS VEGAS (June 2017) – Ingrid Reisman, vice president, and chief marketing officer, of Las Vegas Monorail Company, was named an Outstanding Woman in Travel and Transportation during the 2017 Women in Travel and Tourism International (witti) Awards. The awards are the first of their kind in which women honor their peers for outstanding contributions to the travel and tourism industry. The awards were presented during the recent IPW, the annual U.S. international travel and tourism tradeshow, held this month in Washington, D.C.

Women make up the bulk of travel industry employees, ranging from travel agents and advisors to hotel managers and concierges, and yet they remain disproportionately under-represented in the most senior ranks of travel and tourism organizations. The awards are the first in a long list of activities WITTI conducts as part of its commitment to supporting, educating, and advocating for women who work in the travel industry. More than eighty nominations for the awards were received, and the winners were chosen by a panel of their peers.

Reisman was recognized for a career encompassing nearly two decades of leadership in Las Vegas’ mass transit industry, where she has worked diligently to improve the experience of visitors traveling along Las Vegas’ bustling resort corridor. Currently overseeing the strategic marketing program for the Las Vegas Monorail Company, Reisman most recently developed a mass transit solution for business visitors to Las Vegas that has been heralded as a customer-service breakthrough by the hospitality industry.

Under Reisman’s leadership, the Monorail launched a program in 2017 to partner with citywide tradeshows—shows such as CES, NAB, and CONEXPO/CON-AGG, which bring upwards of 100,000-plus attendees to the Strip corridor—to build Monorail fare directly into registration badges. With a station at the Las Vegas Convention Center and six stations along its four-mile route directly serving 26,000 hotel rooms, the Monorail is a natural mass transit resource for these business visitors. Now, convention and tradeshow attendees can simply scan their badge and ride the zero-emissions trains, without the hassle of purchasing and carrying a separate fare card. For show planners, it provides a value-added amenity to offer their clientele; for attendees, it simply makes life during a busy convention easier.

The Las Vegas Monorail provides a quick and convenient connection along the Las Vegas Strip, linking riders to world-class restaurants, shows, shops, day/nightclubs, spas, hotels, and casinos. In minutes, Monorail riders can travel the famous Las Vegas Strip in a safe, comfortable and clean environment – without the hassles of traffic or wasted time. Currently, the privately funded Monorail system includes seven stations: MGM Grand; Horseshoe/Paris Station; Flamingo/Caesars Palace; Harrah’s/The LINQ; Boingo Station at Las Vegas Convention Center; Westgate Resort & Casino and SLS Las Vegas. Las Vegas’ “green” public transportation choice, the Monorail’s electric trains are zero-emission vehicles. Hours of operation are Mondays, 7 a.m. to midnight; Tuesday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.; Friday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. For more information on the Las Vegas Monorail, call 866-4-MONORAIL (866-466-6672) or pick up a Monorail Magazine, available at all Monorail stations.
