Unique & Unusual Attractions in Las Vegas

What are the most unique and unusual attractions in Las Vegas?

Are you looking for something a little off the beaten path? Are you intrigued by things that are unusual or particularly interesting?  Lucky for you, we’ve rounded up a list of all our favorite unique or unusual attractions in Las Vegas. Take a peek and let us know what you’re looking forward too most!

The Golden Tiki

If the giant clamshell doesn’t sell you on this place, we’re confident that the ignited (literally, on fire) drinks and dole whip will. Head off the Las Vegas Strip and step into another world at The Golden Tiki.

While you’re there, keep an eye out for shrunken heads, The Goonies (mostly playing on repeat) and a rather large pirate ship. Kitschy? Yes, but also one of the most laid-back, genuinely excellent bars in all of Las Vegas

Pinball Hall of Fame

You may not naturally associate pinball with Las Vegas, but we’re the proud home of the one-and-only Pinball Hall of Fame. Welcome to the largest pinball collection located in one place. You can find the hall of fame at 1610 E. Tropicana, Las Vegas NV 89119.

The Las Vegas Pinball Collectors Club opened the Pinball Hall of Fame in 2009. Guests can find pinball machines from the 1950s up to 1990s. The majority of the pinball machines are from the 1960s and 1970s as pinball machines were most prevalent during this time.

All of these pinball machines are available for play! They’ve been fully restored so that we can continue to enjoy this classic pastime. The older pinballs will set you back 25 cents per game, and newer ones are 50 cents per game. There are 152 pinball machines and 206 total machines in the hall of fame.

Explore the Pinball Hall of Fame in person or get a sneak peek using this 3D tour before you arrive. How’s that for a unique attraction in Las Vegas?

Praying Mantis at the Downtown Container Park

This 40-foot-long praying mantis is a giant sculpture that spits fire out of its antennae. Created for the Burning Man Festival, it’s permanent home is the Downtown Container Park. Aerospace engineer Kirk Jellum built the sculpture, and the flames can reach six stories high.

Just beyond the Praying Mantis, you’ll find the Dome at Downtown Container Park is an immersive, 4K-visual dome entertainment experience. Four million pixels surround viewers in a series of ultra-HD, 360-degree imagery. The Container Park and its resident Praying Mantis is one of the most unique attractions in Las Vegas.

The Peppermill Fireside Lounge

How can we begin to describe the Peppermill? First of all, the Peppermill Fireside Lounge is a Las Vegas Classic. It’s one of those, must-visit, right of passages for Las Vegas visitors and locals alike. You can find it on Las Vegas Blvd between the Wynn and the Riviera. Drinks are tropical, and dare-we-say Tiki Bar influenced.

The Peppermill originally opened December 26, 1972. You may have seen the Peppermill is films like Casino and Showgirls, which only adds to the intrigue! There also an episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee where Jerry Seinfeld and George Wallace go to the Peppermill.

There’s no way we can do justice to describing the Peppermill; you’ll need to see it for yourself!

Voodoo Lounge

Fifty-two stories about the Las Vegas Strip you can visit the Voodoo Lounge. It’s the crowning jewel of the Rio Las Vegas. This indoor/outdoor Vegas nightclub has one of the best views of the entire Las Vegas Strip. VooDoo Rooftop Nightclub opens at 8 p.m. nightly and is right above the VooDoo Steakhouse.

Don’t miss the world-famous Witch Doctor – an intoxicating rum cocktail that has been topped with dry ice, giving it a unique appeal. Other drinks include the Love Potion, Hypnosis, and Grenade.

Scorpion Shot at Nacho Daddy

Admittedly, this attraction may only be for the most adventurous out here. However, if you’re looking for a real Las Vegas thrill head over to one of the Nacho Daddy’s in town.

Nacho Daddy sells massive amounts of these scorpion shots–over 60,000 since first offering them in 2010. For some extra fun, visit their Miracle Mile location to see the live scorpion terrarium, which was built specially by the TV show Tanked.

Bonanza Gift & Souvenir Shops – World’s Largest Gift Shop

Located just across the street from SAHARA Las Vegas (nearest the SAHARA Las Vegas Monorail Station) is the 40,000 square-foot gift shop. If you can’t find the perfect souvenir here, then you won’t find it anywhere! The gift shop opened in 1980 and has been a fixture of the Las Vegas Strip since.
