Las Vegas for Outdoor Enthusiasts
What are the best ways to enjoy the outdoors in Las Vegas? Las Vegas may be known for the glitter and glam of the Las Vegas Strip, but there are dozens of ways to explore and enjoy the natural beauty of the Mojave desert. We’re sharing a few of our picks for enjoying the outdoors in Las Vegas. From adrenaline-pumping ideas to relaxing, scenic options–we’re highlighting the best of everything outdoors in Las Vegas.
Explore the Grand Canyon From Las Vegas
It’s easy to imagine Las Vegas as a city of lights in the middle of the desert, but Las Vegas is also located near some of the most beautiful natural wonders. The Grand Canyon National Park opened in 1919 and is celebrating its Centennial year in 2019.
The best and most breathtaking way to visit the Grand Canyon is via a helicopter ride. Helicopter tours will set you back a few hundred dollars but seeing the Grand Canyon from the sky is truly priceless. We recommend checking out tours from Sundance, Maverick, and Papillon. Each offers slightly different packages and options so finding the right one for you will be easy.
Get Outdoors Dune Buggy in the Las Vegas Desert
Get off-road with Sun Buggy Fun Rentals. Sun Buggy is an off-road ATV tour company with ten years of experience in the Las Vegas valley. They offer tours with ATVs, Polaris RZRs, 3/4 scale desert racers, and dune buggies. These things are fast, and we know that fast means fun!

Enjoy Art Outdoors in Las Vegas
Ugo Rondinone’s Seven Magic Mountains is a 35-foot high art installation in the middle of the Las Vegas desert. The art installation is located just ten miles south of Las Vegas, alongside Interstate 15. Seven Magic Mountains was produced by the Art Production Fund and Nevada Museum of Art.
Originally opened in May of 2016 with a plan of remaining for just two years, the installation has become so popular that it will now remain until the end of 2021. Don’t wait! We don’t want you to miss the opportunity to see this piece of public art. Plus, it’s a great spot to snap an incredible photo.
Zip-lining in Bootleg Canyon
Are you ready for an exciting adventure and beautiful scenery? Zipline tours allow you a new way to experience the outdoors. Flightlinez Bootleg Canyon offers four ziplines that cover over a mile and a half of the Bootleg Canyon. Tours start at the top of the mountain and guests make their way back down over a series of ziplines and incredible views. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife–they’ve been known to make appearances for tours.
Daytime zipline tours are offered from 9 am to 2 pm, sunset tours begin at 5 pm. Finally, moonlight zipline (yep, tours at night with just the moon to light the mountain) tours begin at 8 pm.
