What Does the $600 Million LVCC Renovation Include, and Why Was It Undertaken?

Undertaken?

The $600 million Las Vegas Convention Center renovation includes updating the legacy campus to match the standards of the West Hall, which opened in 2021. The massive undertaking, which began in May 2023 and was finished in December 2025, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, features:

  • A modernized Grand Central Hall lobby.
  • A fully reconfigured South Hall, with a state-of-the-art boardroom and plaza.
  • A climate-controlled concourse that connects the North Hall with the South Hall.

Conventions, trade shows, meetings, expos, and other events are a vital component of Las Vegas’ infrastructure and tourist industry. The project was undertaken to update the legacy campus, which was opened in 1959, to maintain the facility as a top-tier venue.

How Has the Renovation Transformed the Overall Experience at the LVCC?

The city and LVCVA wants to provide a world-class convention experience by modernizing the legacy campus and aligning technology and energy efficiency in the newly renovated facility.

The completed renovation has transformed the entire 3.2-million square-foot legacy campus into a technology-driven, cohesive, and modern space.

What Updates Were Made to the Exhibit Halls, and How Do They Better Support Large-Scale Events?

The renovation increased the total indoor exhibition space to 2.5 million square feet. The layout in the South Hall was changed to provide unified layouts and more contiguous floor space.

Other changes to the legacy campus include:

  • New 3D wayfinding technology.
  • New interactive kiosks.
  • New downloadable navigation app.
  • New HD digital signage and video displays.
  • New interior concourse for easy movement between halls.
  • New 75” x 42” digital screen in the new Grand Lobby.
  • Upgraded electrical and 5G connectivity.
  • New energy-efficient LED lighting.

What New Features or Design Upgrades Were Added to the North, Central, and South Halls?

The architectural exterior features of the Las Vegas Convention Center’s West Hall were extended to the North, Central, and South Halls, creating a cohesive, modern, and stylish look.

Other new features and design upgrades that were made include:

  • South Hall: New east entrance, state-of-the-art boardroom, new admin office complex, and a new outdoor plaza.
  • Central Hall: New Grand Lobby, with massive digital display and a new “glass curtain” wall for more natural lighting.
  • North Hall: LED monitors outside all renovated meeting rooms, new digital signage, and enhanced sound systems.

How Does the West Hall Integrate With the Newly Renovated Legacy Campus?

The West Hall was the inspiration for the $600 million renovation project and the transformation of the legacy campus.

Some of the changes include:

  • Uniformity of technology and digital experiences in the West Hall made campus wide.
  • Modernizing the outdoor facades of the North, Central, and South Halls to match the ribbon roof design and exterior features of the West Hall.
  • Incorporating the natural lighting and glass features of the West Hall into the newly renovated Grand Lobby in the Central Hall.
  • Using the concourse between the West and North Halls as inspiration for the newly constructed concourse that connects the North and South Halls.

How Can I Get to Events at the Newly Renovated LVCC?

You can easily get to conventions, trade shows, and other events at the newly renovated LVCC by using the Las Vegas Monorail. The Boingo Station at the Las Vegas Convention Center is ideally located within walking distance to the South and Central Halls.
